Where did Gemini 3 Pro go?

I was genuinely surprised and disappointed to find that Gemini 3 Pro has been removed from Google AI Studio. It was, by far, the most balanced and efficient model Google has offered. Its performance and generous quota made it my go-to choice for complex tasks. This change has significantly impacted my workflow, and I sincerely hope Google brings it back or provides an equivalent that matches its level of reasoning and reliability

Yeah, I was confused

In my opinion, the Gimni 3 Pro was the most balanced model, on the one hand professional, on the other hand not thinking too much. For a long time, I only used it. Now it’s a bit annoying because the Gimni 3.1 thinks a lot and I’m running out of credits.

3.1 easily thinks for 20 minutes and times out, even if I ask it to just implement or change a few things. This has happened to me so many times.

i was using 3.0 to summarize long transcripts. i tried 3.1 but the writing comes out sounding very stiff and uncreative.

why get rid of 3.0? is 3.1 supposed to be for technical programming stuff only and not writing?

they probably did it because 3 pro uses more compute resources compared to 3.1 pro and since they are running out of compute, they have to push people to use the cheaper to run model.
