I just asked Antigravity to solve a problem, here’s its thinking process:
I’m kind of confused regarding what’s with this “specific tool” selection thoughts. I can see this in every thinking block with some variance (I shall avoid this tool, this tool seems better at the job). In fact, out of the 12 thinking prompt in response, 7-8 were tool selection rather than focusing on the problem.
Does anyone know what’s happening?

It’s really effing awful! How could this have shipped. Google is so disappointing, and they have zero excuse, they have the data, the money and the compute yet they lag so far behind and to make things worse they ship this stupid repeat thought tool bug. Has anyone from their dev team even addressed with a plan of when to fix it? It has to be, it should be embarrassing how bad Gemini is inside google own ide. I’ve been rooting for you GOOGLE I want you to be the one out front and that is why this is so disappointing because this CRAP! It’s so bad, its not even worth peoples time to ever mention Gemini anymore. FIX IT! no excuse, with the data, the engineers, money and TPU COME ON !
I'm now focusing on tool selection, emphasizing specific tools over general ones where possible. The goal is to optimize efficiency by leveraging tools tailored to particular tasks, like viewing files. This strategy promises a more targeted and less error-prone approach to problem-solving, which I will continue to refine and implement moving forward.

I think they did it since it deleted someone’s C drive. They now told it to avoid rm completely or something like this
