What about the paid tiers, did thay also change?

A user said on Reddit that even for the paid tier 1, the RPD for Gemini 2.5 pro decreased from 10K to 300. Is it true? What about 2.5 flash?

If that’s the case, tier 1 just became unusable for many projects, and tier 2 - too expensive for them.

Someone with tier 1, please confirm.

Tier 1 here!

I just upgraded to tier 1, and yet 2.5 pro is still giving me error 429, limit ‘0’…

I also just upgraded to tier 1, and 2.5 Pro is working fine for me.

But I can confirm, RPD for pro is 300 on tier 1, which is just unusable. The app I created won’t even cover 200-300 daily active users, cause it uses 2.5 pro and one user might use it several times. So basically, I need tier two, even when I’m on a very small scale and can’t cover expenses.

Google, make it make sense. Even if it’s temporary, you can’t be slashing such updates out of nowhere for the paid users. We’re developing things here, and we can’t be getting such sudden changes that destroy our whole process.

My project is not at the level where I need to spend $250/month on an API. A very strange decision, which will push back a lot of devs.

What happened? Does Google suddenly changed RPD from 10k to 300 on paid tier 1?
