I am opening this thread to centralize a growing and serious concern regarding the recent tightening of usage quotas across the platform. Many of us are hitting a wall, and it is reaching a point where the service is becoming unusable for our daily workflows.
1. The Recent Decline in Access
We have observed a systematic and frustrating reduction in limits across the board.
First, we noticed a significant drop in Claude quotas.
Now, the same pattern is happening with Gemini 3.1, leaving many of us effectively blocked.
This downward trend is making it impossible to rely on these models for any consistent project or creative work.
2. The Professional Bottleneck
The current situation is particularly frustrating for paying users. To give a concrete example: I renewed my subscription only yesterday, and I am already blocked by rate limits today. It is disheartening to pay for a “Pro” service and be unable to use it within 24 hours of payment. We feel like we are paying for professional access but receiving a “restricted trial” experience.
3. Our Request for a Middle Ground
The gap between the standard Pro plan and the high-end Ultra tier is far too wide. We are calling on Google to:
Increase the quotas for Gemini 3.1 to a level that allows for actual, sustained use.
Introduce an intermediate “Antigravity Power User” plan for those who need higher throughput without the enterprise-level costs of Ultra.
Engage in a direct dialogue with this community to address these constraints.
We need everyone to speak up now: we want a direct presence from the Google team here to listen and engage in a real dialogue. Given the current limits, many of us are considering leaving for Claude or returning to Cursor’s $60 plan, which offers much more reliability for the price.
This is so unbelievable… I paid for the service but I cant even use it to develop a full small project with it. All the RAM they purchased, but still cant run those AI for a little bit more. Next time they would probably put ads everytime u gave a prompt.
Nothing “Pro” about that subscription. Let me start by saying that when AG launched I was a HUGE believer, the Gemini models were amazing, limits perfect, made everybody very productive and we produced some great internal tooling when I subscribed my entire company. Things have gone downhill incredibly fast in 2 months. The models have become braindead, limits are unbearable.
Professional in its definition means “earning a living”. 5 hour lockouts already make it hard enough for professionals (as in building software to earn money) to get stuff done, more often than not you’d even after careful prompting and context engineering still end up with “2-hour coffee breaks”. But okay, since it made folks super productive we could let that slip. Ever since expanding lockouts to 5 days this service has basically become a “toy” rather than a tool for work.
Worse, communication from Google’s end was abysmal, support unhelpful, official docs for the longest time still claimed 5 hour lockouts for Pro users, no mention of weekly limits. In the end we came to realize that Google basically changed the initial terms making this service useless for any serious work (“hey why don’t you subscribe to ultra plan instead?”).
After a week of basically stand still, we’ve decided to vote with our feet. We are now using a competitor’s AI service and we are in the process of downgrading all of our Google Business subscriptions.
