Urgent: accidentally deleted an app under Build, backup failure

Hi Google AI Studio Team,

I accidentally clicked ‘Delete’ one of my core working tool “abondforever.hk - Carousel Gen” in the AI Studio Dashboard within past 15 mins. I have checked my Google Drive Trash thoroughly, but the file is nowhere to be found. Any chance for any backend engineer to help look into it and restore the app for me please?

This is the link to the app I recovered from history: https://aistudio.google.com/apps/34758c56-f99a-4ffa-b949-a3ccfc880ad4?showAssistant=true&showPreview=true

Thank you so much!

Did you try gdrive recovery tool? Files that deleted still can be recover within 25 days.

Hello,
I am sincerely sorry to hear about the accidental deletion of your core working tool, “Carousel Gen.” I understand how critical this application is to your workflow.

I would like to inform you that I encountered an error when trying to access the link you provided, and the page is currently inaccessible from my end.

Typically, when a project or prompt is directly “Deleted” within Google AI Studio, it is permanently removed from the active cloud dashboard due to data retention policies, which is likely why it is not appearing in your Google Drive Trash.

Why are you acting as a part of Google staff??

yes, tried. reached out to Google Cloud team. they couldnt find any. Apparently my app is not automatically backup on Cloud.

Someone who has been using Google services for more than 10 years can assist others before escalating to the support team. Sometimes, issues can be resolved by users themselves with self-service tools.

It’s very important to enable the save / backup feature.

Just to clarify, I don’t work for Google. I’m just here to share some feedback/ideas.

Google Drive has a 25-day grace period. Even if you delete files or empty your trash, you can still recover the files within that grace period before they are gone permanently. This grace period has saved my enterprise users on many occasions.

AI Studio can enable the option to store prompts and project assets in the user’s Google Drive account. If you don’t enable the save option, there is a higher chance the files will be permanently deleted, as it runs as ephemeral storage.
