Ultra account cannot generate images in Flow — videos work, non-Ultra account works

I am a Google AI Ultra subscriber. My Google Flow video generation works normally, but all image generations fail.

I have already tried:

  • Clearing cookies and site data
  • Incognito mode
  • Different browser
  • Different projects
  • Different simple English prompts
  • Signing out and signing back in
  • Age verification

A different non-Ultra Google account works normally on the same browser and same network, so this is not a local browser, network, prompt, or device issue.

My family group members also cannot generate images, which suggests an account-level or family-level entitlement / quota routing issue.

Please manually reset or refresh my Flow image generation quota and account entitlement on the backend, especially for Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, and Imagen access.

Please also check whether failed image generations are consuming credits.

Yes, it’s the same situation for me after upgrading from Pro to Ultra (€99.99). I can no longer generate images using Nano Banana 2 or Pro, though Imagen 4 works fine. I’ve already contacted support, and they are escalating the issue to the technical team…

I have the same problem. Please Help google dev team.

Im also having the same issues and i need to deliver 180+ images in a 2 day :)))) ty google

I have the Exact Same problem!!! I just upgraded to Ultra and it doesn’t work for more than a day! and I have work to deliver!! Please if your problem is fixed let me know.

Update from my side:

Google One supervisor reviewed my case and confirmed that this is not an image quality issue or a prompt interpretation issue.

They acknowledged that:

  • Flow video generation works on my Google AI Ultra account.
  • Flow image generation consistently fails on my Ultra account.
  • A non-Ultra account works normally on the same browser, device, and network.
  • Standard troubleshooting steps have already been exhausted.

They said the issue appears to be isolated to my specific Google AI Ultra account’s image generation access within Google Flow.

As a one-time courtesy compensation, they offered a refund for the current billing period without canceling my Google AI Ultra subscription. My plan will remain active while they continue working toward a resolution.

The issue itself is still not fixed yet. I will update again if Google provides a backend fix.

how did you contact thel to get a refund? i want to do it aswell as nothing work since 3 days

how did you contact the Google One supervisor ?

I am experiencing this exact same issue after upgrading to Ultra. Videos and Imagen work, but Nano Banana 2 and Pro immediately fail in Flow. Any admin or dev reading please fix

Same. Upgraded from Pro to Ultra 3 days ago - since no Nano Banana 2 or Pro. Same fix attempts all fail. Two chats with support. Supposedly escalated to ‘Priority’ but still no fix.

Are existing Ultra users having the same issue? Or is it folks upgrading from Pro to Ultra? Like many, I’m under a time crunch, I may create a new account and go straight to Ultra - but if Ultra’s the problem (not the Pro to Ultra upgrade), that probably won’t work either.

After upgrade from pro to ultra, I have the same error. And contact Google support, for about one hour, there is no solution. Have you solved it?

Upgraded to Ultra about 36 hours ago and the image generation stopped working. Support keeps telling me to rey incognito, other browsers, other devices, then they “escalate” my issue and tell me to wait… then nothing happens!!! Any Idea on what to do?

The situation remains the same and has not been resolved.

My support ticket with Google One Support is still being processed. I had to send screenshots of Google Flow, and nothing has happened since then. For the time being, I have cancelled my €99.99 AI Ultra subscription until this error is fixed.

Upgraded 5 days ago, Nano Banana still not working and I keep receiving the same message from google support :

  • Perform a hard refresh of your webpage.

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.

  • Open the tool in an Incognito or Private browsing window"

Even though I already told them I’ve done this severaL times and didn’t work

Same problem over here. Upgraded from free to Ultra and can’t generate any images (even if I go into the Whisk tool). Been back and forth emailing Google One customer support and live chats. The end result is always “Send feedback” which does no good when its an account issue.

Very frustrated. I even tried to add a family member to my Google One. The result was the same. Both the family member and my main account can’t generate images by using Nano banana 2 or pro. Videos work fine. Ridiculous. And the technique support didn’t help. Just asked you to wait for escalation.

Quick update from my side:

Still not fixed yet.

I contacted Google One support directly, and after a few rounds they finally escalated my case to a specialist team. The key thing I kept repeating was that this is not a browser/cache/prompt issue, because my non-Ultra account works on the exact same device, browser, network and VPN, while my Ultra account fails only for image generation. Video generation still works on the Ultra account.

A supervisor acknowledged that it looks like an account-level Flow image generation access issue, not an image quality issue. They offered me a one-time refund for the current billing period while keeping my Ultra subscription active. They also asked me to send screenshots and a screen recording, and said the backend/specialist team is still investigating.

So I don’t have a real fix yet. The only useful advice I can give is: don’t just submit Flow feedback. Contact Google One support directly, ask for a supervisor or refund/billing specialist, and clearly say it looks like an account-level Flow image generation entitlement issue.

I’ll update again if they actually fix the backend issue.

Same issue here, Ultra account, While I can generate videos, I can not images for 1 day.

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the report & apologies. We don’t believe this issue ever affected AI Studio / Gemini API. This is now confirmed as fixed in Flow.
