TypeScript file is defined as a video (?)

The title is clear, but I will add: when I load a .ts (i.e. typescript) file, it first of all loads endlessly, and in the end it never loads, and secondly, judging by the “play” sign, it is also detected as a video. thanks.

@DimaYastrebov ,
welcome to the community.

may i know which model you are using and which browser your are accessing AI studio from ?
i tried this and it recognizes typescript fine for me.

.ts also represents (Video Transport Stream file),

i wonder if you tried to access it on your computer and the default media player from your computer might have accessed it ?

yeah, so - I’m using Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview, but I also checked with 2.0 and 1.5 - same thing. makes sense since the upload UI clearly isn’t tied to the model itself.

browser is Opera GX (Chromium 133.0.6943.143, Core 118.0.5461.120), running on Windows 11 x64.
I don’t have any media players installed besides VLC. tried opening the .ts file there - nothing happens. no error, no video.
opened it in notepad - it’s just TypeScript code, mine.

then I dragged the file into the browser itself, just to check - and it literally triggers a download popup with type “TS Video File”. so yeah, looks like the browser is misdetecting it too.

but again, in AI Studio the file loads endlessly and shows the “play” icon, like it’s video. it’s not.

PS: ah, now I get why it’s being treated as a video - but still, that doesn’t solve anything.

just noticed nobody answered me yet - kinda weird, not sure why.

anyway, could probably add an option to pick the actual type (like video or code) - same kind of button you recently added for videos, with the FPS setting and start/end points.
