API is throwing 429 (too many requests), when trying to use gemini 2.0 but there is nothing in quotas
Hi @Philippe, The Gemini 2.0 has the rate limit of 10 RPM which was mentioned in this document. Thank You.
Hi, is there a way to increase it to more then 10 request per minutes for academic reasrach purposes?
Hi @Ron_Yosef, I think for the free tier there is no way of increasing the rate limits. But for the paid tier you can raise a request as mentioned here which lies on no guarantees. Thank You.
I currently hold a paid subscription under my personal email address, rather than this institute-managed account. Several months ago I submitted a request to have the plan transferred (or consolidated) but have not yet received a response.
This limitation is now affecting my research productivity, so I would greatly appreciate an update on the status of my request or guidance on the quickest way to resolve the account constraints.
Thank you for your help.
Hi @Ron_Yosef, If you are on paid tier, Rate limits are tied to the project’s usage tier. As your API usage and spending increase, you’ll have an option to upgrade to a higher tier with increased rate limits. Please refer to this document. Thank You.
@Kiran_Sai_Ramineni Unfortunately, we are supported by the Google Academic Program and received credits totaling $3,000. In our case, even though we are using the API with the required “spend” (we’ve already used $1,000), since it’s covered by credits, we don’t get tier promotions? This is really holding the research back.
