Tier: Paid Tier 3 (Pro) Issue: Consistent 429 Resource Exhausted errors occurring during requestTextForImg calls despite dashboard showing negligible usage (168/30k RPM). Timeline: Started April 28, 2026. Troubleshooting Done: Implemented exponential backoff with retries; usage remains well under limits. Suspected Cause: Potential regression in Tier 3 quota propagation or an undocumented change to concurrency/per-second limits for Gemini 2.0 Flash.
Can anyone please help with this facing for long time effecting the production.
Same here. Europe/Hungary.
I tried creating a new project and a new API key, but I could not test it because, as I understand it, this model cannot be used with new keys created since March 6th. New key returns 404
Welcome to the club. This has been going on for a while and there has been no clarification/acknowledgment from Google. Their API status page shows âAll systems operational.â Right. My guess is they really donât want people to use Flash 2.0 and so theyâre silently throttling it for a lot of organizations. This, coupled with the shitty new models in anything that isnât coding, coupled with them not allowing us to turn off thinking with the new models (and also removing the âcandidatesâ parameter) really paints a grim picture to any use case that isnât STEM related.
I am facing the exact same issue, and it is deeply disappointing.
I donât understand why the maintenance of a model that is still officially in service could deteriorate to this extent. For a company like Google, failing to ensure the basic functionality of an active model is unacceptable.
I donât how we can trust any of their future services or long-term commitments.
