The "Reset" or "Clear Chat" button has completely disappeared

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that after the latest update to Google AI Studio, the “Reset” or “Clear Chat” button has completely disappeared from the interface, specifically when using the “Code Assistant” view.

Previously, it was easy to clear the context to start fresh, but now the conversation history just keeps growing, which eventually slows down the browser. I have tried refreshing the page and restoring checkpoints, but the reset button is still nowhere to be found.

Is there a new way to clear the chat history, or is this a known UI bug?

Not that I’m aware of. The /clear prompt doesn’t work either.

The only way I found is to click on Remix. Having to Remix every time is a big hassle.

Is this safe to use, has anyone else tested this?

It may be safe but it cannot work since there are not any delete turns buttons it can interact with. It might worked with previous versions. Just ignore it.

Has anyone found a workaround for this yet other than using remix and generating a thousand copies of your app?

but the plugin didn’t help, only once, after restarting the PC, Google AI Studio returned to its initial settings :rofl:
