Simply use a video and understanding of sign language to convert sign language to text for the ability to use Gemini (sorry competitors) to allow the deaf to better voice their opinions, as they often have speech impediments that Gemini will often struggle to keep up with otherwise, which, while helping the deaf learn how to speak, isn’t the intended use of Gemini either
I would hope someone else is thinking like this, but I have nowhere else to start the discussion, because it needs to happen (especially for the UK) as we have to adhere to WCAG Guidelines for essential public sector infrastructure by legislative means (October 2024 deadline), in conjunction with the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights for discrimination through negligence of the services to provide something like this in circumstances outside of their control), as all it would take is the correct keyframes during a sign to be able to describe which sign in which dialect should it not be universal sign language
I know other legislation must exist to support why immediate discussion of this functionality is needed by the bigger companies that have AI with these capabilities too
As a software test engineer, I need to know how we’re able to provide this for industries such as Healthcare, where ordering medications would have the starting point of Gemini as an injection of state method too, for essential applications in the industry, should I ever get the chance, much like Alexa could collab with Ring to provide the ability to speak with the person at the door that is deaf, or for (Siri|Apple Intelligence) to include this functionality too
I post here first, as you shouldn’t have gotten rid of the “Don’t Be Evil“ slogan
