Restoring a Deleted Frequently Visited Site: Questions on Visit History and Ranking

I am writing to seek clarification regarding the functionality of the “Frequently visited sites” (or “Tab strip”) feature in the Chrome browser.

For a significant period (approximately six months), I actively used a specific website, which consequently secured the first and permanent position in my

list of frequently visited sites displayed when opening a new tab. Unfortunately, I accidentally removed its icon from this list.

This situation has led me to the following questions:

1. Has the internal visit statistics for this site been reset for my profile after its removal from the visible list? Will Chrome’s algorithm now track my new visits from scratch, as if it were a completely new site?

2. To return the site to the top position, will it require accumulating a similar amount of visit data over a long period (for instance, another six months), or can the algorithm “re-learn” faster based on my renewed activity?

I would be very grateful for detailed answers to my questions. The “Frequently visited sites” feature is an extremely important tool for my productivity.

Sincerely,
