Request to restore standard API key generation (restricted to AQ. keys

Hi Google AI Developers Support Team,

My account was recently restricted, possibly due to an accidental exposure of a Gemini API key. Consequently, my account is restricted to generating API keys starting with the ‘AQ.’ prefix instead of the standard ‘AIza’ prefix.

These ‘AQ.’ keys are returning a 401 UNAUTHENTICATED error (ACCESS_TOKEN_TYPE_UNSUPPORTED) in my project, making it impossible to use the Gemini API.

I have fully secured my development environment, deleted all old/exposed API keys, and added my .env file to .gitignore so they are not committed again.

Could you please perform a manual review of my account and restore my ability to generate standard ‘AIza’ API keys?

We are moving away from Traffic keys (Alza) and towards a more secure Authentication Key (AQ). AI Studio will now only generate Authentication Key (AQ) keys. More information on key usage can be found in the Using Gemini API keys documentation.
