I was setting up this account on AI Studio to explore Google Gemini’s Free Tier. Free tier was available. I created a project, set up an API key under it, sent a request using the key, and then was promptly denied access for unknown reasons by Google. Afterwards, my account was disabled. I submitted an appeal to Google and my account was reinstated. However, any project / API key I create is automatically restricted with no Free Tier access.
I get the following banners / notifications:
- “project requires your attention. This Project’s API access is restricted. Please set up billing to continue.”
- “Project quota tier unavailable. Please contact your project administrator for assistance.”
- “This Project’s API access is restricted. Please set up billing to continue.”
I have completed Phone Verification and turned on 2-Step Verification (2SV) as well. I have completed age verification and date of birth in my Google Account. What are next steps to get unrestricted? As a reminder, I do not want to set up billing as this will remove my Free Tier access.
