Why did you remove the ability to send chat messages without running the model? It was so convenient… Now I need to send message and immediately stop the model.
Boosting this up, the devs have to see this. I hope it was an accident.
Maybe its because it still allows multi line prompt. It wont make any difference if it would be sent separately or together. But I understand that it is painful when you have practice of pressing Shift + Enter and then writing other things and finally clicking Ctrl + Enter
I hope removal of this aiblity is an accident, but it’s still gone. Please give it back google
Several months later and still this feature has not returned.
It was really helpful in keeping organized when collaborating: Certain User messages in the prompt could be better ‘protected’. While others could be left blank with intention to be edited by others, reordered ordered as desired, etc. Now to do this, it requires running and cancelling the model quickly and then deleting its output. A waste of model calls.
Since Shift+Enter is almost universally new-line/linebreak, why not keep Shift+Enter as that, and have Enter be “Send Without Running”, keeping Control+Enter as “Send and Run”. It would also work the same when editing a message.
It’s Alt+Enter now.
