Missing Default Quotas for Gemini Models - 429 Errors Despite Correct Setup
Hello,
I am experiencing a critical issue where my project is missing the default quota entries for all Gemini models, causing every API call to fail with a 429 “Quota Exceeded” error.
1. Problem Summary:
Despite having the “Generative Language API” enabled and a valid billing account linked, the quota entries for essential models (e.g., gemini-2.5-pro, gemini-2.5-flash-image) are completely missing from my project’s “Quotas & System Limits” page. As a result, all API calls are failing. To be clear, this is NOT a request for a quota increase, but a request to fix the missing default quota entries.
2. Missing Quota Entries:
-
gemini-2.5-pro
-
gemini-2.5-flash-image
-
(and likely all other base models for the Generative Language API)
3. Steps Already Taken:
-
Verified multiple times that the “Generative Language API” is Enabled.
-
Confirmed that a valid billing account is active and linked to the project.
-
Waited several days for the Quotas page to update, with no change.
-
Completed all administrative setup, including migrating the project to a new Organization.
-
Subscribed to a paid Standard Support plan.
4. Specific Request:
I believe this is a project provisioning issue that requires intervention from the engineering team. Could you please escalate this case to the Generative Language API technical team to correct the provisioning for my project? I need the default quota entries for the Gemini models to appear correctly in the console so that I can begin using the API.
This issue is completely blocking my application development. Your urgent attention is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
