Bug Report Regarding Speech-to-Text in Gemini 3.6 Flash and Google AI Studio API
Dear Google Employees, I would like to submit a bug report. Recently, a few days ago, you changed the algorithms regarding speech-to-text, specifically for the Gemini 3.6 Flash model and the Google AI Studio API. Over the recent period, I have noticed a rapid drop in speech-to-text accuracy there.
Extreme Drop in Transcription Quality, Occurrence of Cyrillic, and Grammatical Inaccuracies
Because you changed some algorithms there, probably—most certainly you must have changed the algorithms, as otherwise such a sudden, unexpected, and extreme drop in quality could not have occurred. Cyrillic script keeps appearing in the transcript, even though I speak clearly in Slovak the entire time. I am not using any Russian words, I am not speaking in languages that use Cyrillic, and yet Cyrillic appears there anyway. Slovak does not use Cyrillic; Slovak uses only the Latin alphabet.
And many other errors and similar inaccuracies, a complete lack of knowledge of Slovak grammar, absolute ignorance of Slovak grammar, and ignorance of the Slovak vocabulary. Even basic things like these were failing.
Request to Roll Back to Older Settings in Gemini 3.6 Flash
So please be so kind and roll it back to the old settings, because this is a disaster. It might have been worth a try as an experiment, but please be so kind, dear employees, fix it and revert it to the old settings, because those worked better.
In fact, regarding these bugs, the exact same bugs appear there as with the AI model called Gemini 3.5 Transcribe. Exactly these same errors are showing up there. So please, change the settings back to the older ones that were there before, as those were far, far better.
