A couple of questions about this view from the Google Cloud Console.
-
What does ‘forecasted’ mean? Does it mean that the prompt and response have been delivered – so the cost is “accrued” – but the cost is not final for some reason?
-
What is the normal lag between forecasted and real? Until this screenshot I had been accustomed to seeing forecasts turn into real within 24 hours.

This has some major shortcomings relative to the usage/ billing from other providers.
- a) it is inside Cloud Console, which is daunting. A link straight here from Google Studio would be much better.
- b) no prompt/token counts, no logs, etc.
This would be a significant issue for customers who must scrutinize costs closely (i.e. most of us).
