Developers in Ukraine still can’t use the Android Studio AI Assistant because it’s not available in our region. We rely on Google tools every day, and this feature would really help us code faster, learn, and stay competitive. Please consider adding Ukraine to the supported countries so we can use it too.
I completely agree and want to add my voice to this request.
As an Android and Flutter developer from Ukraine, getting the “Permission Denied” error inside Android Studio is incredibly frustrating. The most confusing part is that both the Gemini API and Google AI Studio are officially available in Ukraine, yet the IDE integration remains blocked.
Right now, we are forced to route our IDE traffic through VPNs or external proxies just to use basic features like AI commit message generation.
Please align the regional availability for the Android Studio AI Assistant with the rest of the Gemini ecosystem. Thank you!

@heitezy did you try it? Since May 4 after my issue report ( Google Issue Tracker ) it started work in Android Studio
Wow, it finally works! Thank you for pointing out to actually try it now. I was checking if Ukraine had already appeared in the list (https://developer.android.com/studio/gemini/availability) and it is still not there. So I ended up here.
