We are writing to respectfully request the inclusion of the Republic of Moldova in the list of regions where Google AI Studio and the Gemini API are officially available. As passionate developers, innovators, and members of the growing tech community in Moldova, we are eager to leverage Google’s cutting-edge AI technologies to build impactful applications and contribute to the global AI ecosystem.
Currently, when attempting to access Google AI Studio or utilize the Gemini API, users from Moldova are redirected to the “Available Regions” documentation, indicating that our country is not yet supported.
Thank you for your interest in Google AI Studio and the Gemini API. We really appreciate your enthusiasm and support from the tech community in Moldova. While Moldova isn’t currently a supported region, we’ll definitely bring this request to the attention of the teams.
I don’t get why even the discrimination? It looks like literally all countries are supported except for Moldova and Russia (which is a lot more understandable)
There’s actually a global ‘blacklist’ of countries that aren’t included in Google Studio’s services:
Afghanistan
Andorra
Belarus
China (PRC)
Cuba
Iran
Monaco
Moldova
Myanmar
North Korea
Russia
Syria
Why is Moldova included in Google Studio’s restricted (‘blacklisted’) country list? What criteria place Moldova in the same category as the other countries in that list, and what do they have in common?
I am at a loss as to what measures must be taken to draw attention to our predicament. Perhaps daily correspondence is required? You are compelling us to remit funds to your competitors, despite the fact that the infrastructure is geared towards your own products. What course of action should developers pursue? Employ a VPN? This is patently absurd.
