Pay-as-you-go plan of Gemini-pro-1.5, $3.5 /million tokens meaning

I just wanted to ask about pricing, as you can see in gemini-pro-1.5, it is written that Input price is $3.50 / million tokens. So this means $3.50 will not be charged until 1 million tokens are used or every token will be charged according to this rate ?

I believe that’s the case, and that’s the modality, and I’m not aware of any other possible interpretation.

Well, there are at least two other interpretations:

  • You will be charged $3.50 for up to 1 million tokens
  • You will be charged $0.0000035 per token (usually rounded up to the nearest $0.01) (or equivalent in local currency and local minimum billable value)

Typically it is this last one that is done. You’re billed for every token, but the value is rounded up to a minimum payable value in your currency.

It’s pay as you.

They count the tokens you used them you pay whatever you owe based on the rate of $3.50 / 1,000,000 tokens.

If you use 100,000 tokens, you owe $0.35. if you use 10,000 tokens, you owe $0.04.
