Opal app status remains Draft even after setting Publish your Opal to Public

Subject: Technical Issue: Opal App Status Stuck in Draft Despite Publishing

Description:

I am encountering a synchronization issue where an Opal app status remains Draft even after setting Publish your Opal to Public.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Share App menu.

  2. Toggle Publish your Opal to the On/Public position.

  3. Close the dialog or refresh the browser.

Observed Behavior:

The status indicator in the top-left corner persists as Draft. Changes to the sharing toggle are visible in the UI but do not commit to the server or update the deployment state. I have attempted hard refreshes, toggling the setting multiple times, and clearing cache without success.

Expected Behavior:

The app status should update to Shared and the live version should reflect the current state of the editor.

Environment: Google AI Studio / Opal

Hi! If you’ve published your Opal, click the “Share App” button and “copy link” below the publish toggle. The “copy link” URL will open up the published version of your Opal. The Opal version in your library will always be in “draft” mode since you can make edits there. Once you have edits you’re ready to make live, you can click “share app” in your draft version and click to update recent changes.

Hope that helps! If you have more questions, there’s a Labs discord with an Opal sub-channel! Google Labs
