I’ve been using Google Antigravity extensively for real development work, especially for AI-assisted coding workflows, and I’ve noticed something unusual:
There haven’t been any major visible updates, improvements, or announcements since April 16, 2026.
In the AI space, especially with developer-focused tools, things usually move very fast. We often see:
Frequent model upgrades
Better context handling
UI/UX improvements
New integrations
Performance optimizations
Roadmap communication
But recently, Antigravity has gone unusually quiet.
That raises an interesting question:
Is Google slowing down development on Antigravity, or are they working on something much bigger behind the scenes?
The platform still has strong potential. In some scenarios, it performs very well and can be genuinely useful for developers. But the silence around updates is becoming more noticeable, especially compared to how quickly competing AI coding tools are evolving.
I’m curious how other developers see the current state of Antigravity.
Have you noticed the lack of updates?
Are there any roadmap hints or insider news?
Do you think Google is preparing a major release?
Or is the project losing momentum?
Would love to hear other experiences and opinions from people actively using it in production workflows.
Either they have prepared some surprises for Google I/O event, or they are about to throw away this platform. 1 of the 2. Technically, it could even be both of the 2 at the same time
When people realised they were being ripped off by the ever-tightening credit limits on their subscriptions, they started to leave, and Google probably doesn’t know what to do with this machine now that a large number of us have simply walked away – quite rightly so
My guess is they used us plebes to help test AntiGravity and it or the core of it will be a subscription services for large companies.
They already added extra storage to plans to make sure we all know that we have storage accounts not AI accounts and now have ridiculous credit restrictions/charges
Yes, my thinking is also that the paused “new releases” have something to unveil at the Google I/O event next week (Tue, 19 May 2026 – Wed, 20 May 2026).
**I noticed that the changelog process is now better compared to before.
The models now last longer for free tier users like myself and their performance is great.
Improved implementation (LAN system and suggestions, tech stack update, and a whole lot of great stuff).
Antigravity, I believe, is undergoing some cooking that is yet to be dished out to us devs**…
