New version 1.19.4 1.19.5 catastrophic for many processes

I updated to 119.4 this morning and everything that I was using well yesterday has stopped working including my firecrawl MCP ,my browser agent and a couple of my projects are just stuck on saying open in editor but when I click open in editor the projects don’t show. in addition every time the agent runs I get multiple terminal windows popping up on my browser most of them just empty not showing anything which I have to close. to top it all off none of my projects are working like they were yesterday Everything was going very smooth I made a ton of progress yesterday on 1.18 version and today I haven’t managed to complete one single task due to multiple bugs and errors. I’ve just downloaded 1.19 .5 to see if that would fix the problems but it doesn’t seem to be any different.

In addition on Agent Manager my inbox has disappeared So now I can’t actually view all the projects as they run.

does anyone have a Safe way of uninstalling the new 1.19 versions and reinstalling the 1.18 ?

.18 wont work. it will ask you to install update

I followed this method and it worked.

Step-by-step Guide:

  1. Open JSON Settings:

    • Press Ctrl + Shift + P to open the Command Palette.

    • Type: Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON) and press Enter.

  2. Disable Auto-Update:

    • In the settings.json file, add or update the following line:

      JSON

      "update.mode": "none"

    • Press Ctrl + S to save. This prevents the IDE from re-installing version 1.19.4 automatically.

  3. Manual Rollback:

    • Go to the Google Antigravity Releases page.

    • Download version 1.18.4 (the stable release prior to the popup bugs).

    • Run the installer to overwrite the current version.

  4. Verify: Launch the app and check the About section to confirm you are running version 1.18.4

Thank you so much for the advice. I also had to roll back to version 1.19.4! Hey Google, if you’re reading this, please pay attention. In version 1.19.4, you finally fixed a long-awaited problem for everyone who used PowerShell. Thanks to what you did (the cmd window through which the agent was running was launched along with the IDE), all commands started working and stopped freezing in the running state. SO WHY DID YOU BREAK THIS IN 1.19.5 the next day? This was our salvation, which we’d been writing and asking for for months, and it WORKS PERFECTLY in 1.19.4.

At this point the broken updates don’t even matter anymore since the new limits don’t allow me to work anyways. I guess that’s it for this product. Gonna try and find something reliable for production.

thanks man you’re a star! this worked for me! I actually ended up rolling back to 1.18.3. it’s all working perfectly now and back on track to finish two client projects :rocket:

I spoke too soon….. It’s blocking me from using the old version and wants me to download the new version… the new version does not work for me at all 1.19.6 is 100 percent broken
