Multiple Silent Nerfs on Google AI Ultra. No Communication, No Compensation, Zero Respect for Paying Customers

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience because I think a lot of people are getting … by Google’s recent decisions on Antigravity / Google AI Ultra, and almost nobody is talking about it openly.

A few days ago, Google made another silent nerf on Ultra: family quotas went from independent per member to a single shared pool. Now when one person in the family uses Antigravity, the quota decreases for everyone. This change happened with zero warning, zero communication, and zero compensation.

This is not the first time. We already had a previous silent nerf where usage went from nearly unlimited to heavily limited. And now they’re doing it again with family quotas.

I contacted Google One support multiple times. After sending clear proof (screenshots from two different family members showing identical quota percentages and refresh timers at the exact same second), their final response was basically:

  • “We can’t do anything”

  • “Support doesn’t have access to change quota behavior”

  • “Submit feedback in the app”

  • And they closed the ticket.

They even tried to gaslight by saying shared allocation “has been part of Google One for some time”… when it clearly wasn’t the case just a few days ago.

I paid for Ultra mainly because of the higher limits and the independent family quotas. Now both of those advantages have been silently removed or heavily restricted. This feels like a complete lack of respect toward paying customers. You subscribe for specific features, they take them away without saying anything, and when you complain they just say “we can’t do anything, go submit feedback”.

This kind of behavior is becoming a pattern:

  1. First shadow nerf → usage heavily limited

  2. Second shadow nerf → family quotas made shared without compensation

If Google continues like this, what’s stopping them from nerfing even more things silently in the future?

I will for sure move to Codex when my current subscription month finishes. At least there I have more transparency on what I’m actually getting.

I believe google is moving towards concentrating the development solution for google ai studio and leaving behind AG. I changed to Claude Max and not coming back.

I unsubscribed from Google’s entire AI ecosystem, including Antigravity (a tool I love) and everything else, because the discrepancies were significant. I switched to Claude for $100, and they don’t lie; they communicate every change they make promptly and accurately. I’m truly satisfied; I’ve made some outstanding code repairs. I recommend switching. I love most of the Google ecosystem, but the serious lack of respect and the resulting problems led me to leave.
