Love the AI Studio Updates, but the New Strict Model Quotas are Killing Hobbyist Projects

Hello Google AI Studio Team,

I am a frequent user of Google AI Studio and have built several personal hobby projects using the platform, including a language learning assistant, an expense tracker, a student record management system, and a trading predictor. I love prototyping here and believe that indie telemetry from diverse experimental applications helps overall ecosystem refinement.

Previously, when I exhausted my daily or minute-based quota on newer models (such as Gemini 3.8), I could seamlessly switch to older versions (like Gemini 3.7 or 3.6) to finish my workflows. However, recent platform updates have tightened the quota structure across legacy and active models alike, preventing this workaround.

Because all of my projects are purely experimental, non-commercial, and self-funded, transitioning to a paid tier is financially unfeasible for me. Would it be possible for the team to consider a “hobbyist leverage” or a relaxed multi-model tier? Granting community developers a small grace quota or soft limits across versions would prevent non-commercial builds from grinding to a halt.

Thank you for your hard work on this platform, and I hope you can consider more flexibility for hobbyist builders!
