Login stuck / "unexpected issue setting up your account" on Debian Linux

Hi, I’ve been experiencing a recurring login issue with Antigravity IDE (v1.107.0) on Debian 13 (trixie).

Issue 1 — Initial login failure:
Error message: “There was an unexpected issue setting up your account.”
Root cause I found: my /etc/hosts had entries redirecting cloudcode-pa.googleapis.com and daily-cloudcode-pa.googleapis.com to 127.0.0.1 (likely from an old ad-blocker/telemetry-blocker script). After disabling those entries and clearing ~/.config/Antigravity IDE, login worked again.

Issue 2 — Random session logouts:
Even after fixing the above, the IDE frequently logs itself out on its own during agent tasks, especially when MCP servers are enabled. The same Google account works fine and consistently on Antigravity CLI (agy) without any of these issues.

This makes me suspect the IDE’s session handling (possibly related to MCP server OAuth token refresh) is less stable than the CLI’s auth flow.

Would appreciate any guidance or a fix for this. Happy to share logs/screenshots if needed.

Hi @kozume,

Thank you for sharing how you resolved the initial login issue by updating your /etc/hosts file—that is very helpful context.

Regarding the random session logouts when MCP is enabled, could you please provide:

  1. The log output from View $\rightarrow$ Output $\rightarrow$ Antigravity Language Server around the time a logout occurs.
  2. Which MCP server(s) you are currently using in the IDE.

These details will help us investigate the issue further. Thank you for your time and support.
