First, I asked it to look for any formatting errors in my screenplay. It was good for the first couple of acts and then seemed to create its own rules. I had to ask it why it was changing the way it proofread, and it apologized, but never regained the focus or detail it had for the first few acts of the screenplay.
Second, I asked it to arrange information into Excel spreadsheets for my accountant. It wasn’t a lot of information, but it took me about four hours to input. The midway sample spreadsheet was fine, and I was glad I downloaded it, but when I finished, things went wonky. First of all, it left out well over half the data I provided. When I brought it up, Gemini told me I’d never supplied it. I entered a tax-deductible charge three times, but it did not appear on the spreadsheet. When I questioned Gemini, it told me I had never supplied the information.
As for the spreadsheet itself, it was formatted after a lot of back and forth, then Gemini reverted to no formatting and started naming the files after a business I had not mentioned for several months to the program.
Also, I had helped a friend draft several headlines that involved her horse, and although I explained several times to Gemini that this horse business of my friend’s and my writing were not the same, it kept trying to integrate her horse into my business.
At one point, I asked it to show me all the prompts I’d given it over the last hour, and it provided crazy snippets that had nothing to do with what I’d asked.
I guess my bottom line is that after the lack of consistency, I don’t trust this system.
