Issue Report: HTTP 500 Error on Google Labs

Summary: Persistent 500 Internal Server Error encountered when attempting to access the Google Labs “Code” tool.

Technical Details:

  • Timestamp: January 16, 2026, at 20:24 (Local Time)

  • Environment: Chrome Browser on ChromeOS (Chromebook)

  • Symptom: The page fails to load, displaying the “broken robot” graphic with the message: “500. That’s an error. There was an error. Please try again later. That’s all we know.”

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Navigate to labs.google.com/code/.

  2. Observe that the server fails to fulfill the request, returning a generic 500 error page instead of the application interface.

  3. Refreshing the page and attempting to access via Incognito mode does not resolve the issue.
