Is the audio length in the “Generate Speech” feature on AI Studio limited to 20–40 seconds?

Today I was trying to generate TTS audio on aistudio .google.com /generate-speech as usual, but I noticed the interface has changed and is a bit harder to use.

The main issue is that after generating several audio clips, they all seem to be limited to around 20 seconds, with a maximum of about 40 seconds. Previously, I was able to create audio files that were 1–2 minutes long without any problem.

So I’d like to ask: is it no longer possible to generate audio longer than 40 seconds?

This seems unexpected & we haven’t been able to reproduce it on our end. Questions:

  • Is this still happening for you?
  • What model are you using?
  • Could you provide an example prompt?
  • Could you give us an example screenshot? It might help clarify the UI changes.
