When attempting to use the image generation feature in Nano Banana Pro within Studio AI, the following error consistently appears: “An internal error has occurred.”
I have already tested this on two different accounts, and in both cases:
The payment method is correctly configured
The API is active and functioning properly
The issue occurs exclusively during image generation in Studio AI, which suggests a possible internal service or integration failure.
Could you please verify whether there is any service instability, account limitation, or additional configuration required?
Thank you for flagging this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and have escalated it to our internal team for investigation. We will update you as soon as we have more information.
Hi @Sonali_Kumari1 , are there any updates? This issue is still ongoing. Not a big fan of being charged $$ for sending a request when the service 503’s.
Hi, I am experiencing the same issues. For context: in late October / early November 2025, I noticed that NanoBanana Pro inside AI Studio worked well during the daytime (Central Europe), but later in the evening the model started spending much more time “thinking” and eventually began returning errors.
Over the last couple of days, NanoBanana Pro has stopped working completely. It gets stuck on Model loading without ever reaching the Thinking UI. After 200–500 seconds, it returns an internal error again.
Image generation through the Gemini app works fine. Generating images inside AI Studio using the non-Pro NanoBanana version also works fine. I also checked two different accounts, verified billing and API access- everything is set up correctly.
The behavior seems random to me: it worked normally once today and then went back to not working at all.
@ISATI_creative_studi Hi, I have created a new project and generated a new API key for it, and it seems to have fixed the issue, at least for the time being. It still seems very random to me.
