I am using the gemini-2.5-pro-exp-03-25 model under the free tier. However, after making only about 10 to 15 requests over the past day or two, I encountered a 429 error: Error: 429 You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.
Upon checking the “Request limit per model per day for a project in the free tier” section in the Google Cloud Console dashboard, I noticed something strange. It reports that a different model, gemini-2.0-pro-exp, exceeded 25 requests in a single day. I have attached a screenshot for your reference.
This reported usage count appears incorrect, as my actual usage was significantly lower than the number that supposedly triggered the quota limit. I believe I only made about half the number of requests indicated by the error and the dashboard.
Could you please investigate this potential bug and address it as soon as possible?
I speculate that perhaps the usage is being incorrectly attributed to gemini-2.0-pro-exp because gemini-2.5-pro-exp-03-25 is currently an experimental model. If this is the case, I assume it’s a temporary issue that will be resolved in the near future. Therefore, I am not overly concerned or irritated at this stage.
