IDE and 2.0 both same time in computer

Is it possible to have both the old IDE and version 2.0 installed on the same computer at the same time? I uninstalled both versions and then reinstalled the old IDE. However, when I installed version 2.0 again, it took over the file associations. The old IDE icon appears correctly and stays the same color, but when I click it, it still opens version 2.0 instead of the old IDE.

Please give exact instruction

I found a solution that worked for me. Install IDE first in alternative path.
