I Seeking AI2-like Development Tools for Visually Impaired Developers

Honestly, this was created by Google Gemini

Hi everyone,

I’m a visually impaired app developer who’s been using MIT App Inventor for over a decade. I love its visual, block-based approach, which has allowed me to create and publish several Android apps, with my most popular one reaching almost 10,000 downloads!
I’m excited about the possibilities of Google AI and I’m wondering if there are any similar tools that can help developers like me build with AI. Ideally, these tools would have:

  • Visual programming interface: Block-based or drag-and-drop systems that minimize the need for traditional coding.

  • Accessibility features: Strong support for screen readers and other assistive technologies.

  • Integration with Google AI services: Easy ways to incorporate AI capabilities like natural language processing, image recognition, and machine learning models.
I’m eager to learn more about how Google AI can empower developers with disabilities. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!

What I’m honestly hoping for is a prompt based programming platform that lets you technically type in a prompt and get it to create a new .apk or maybe even an .aab?
    Thanks,
    Steven Rice

Hey @Steven_Rice ,

For, visually impaired developers seeking AI2-like tools for Google AI integration, explore current low-code platforms and Google’s accessible AI initiatives. While direct prompt-to-APK generation is advanced, ongoing developments in visual and accessible AI development tools and promising.
