So today I noticed the new UI of AI Studio. It must be an improvement for people with smaller screens, but on my 5120x1440 ultra-widescreen monitor it is a disaster.
Why? Because at first I had the code assistant, the code with a folder list and the preview window nicely side-by-side. That’s the advantage of having a vast screen.
I want this three-panel layout back! Put it as an option in the settings!
Hi @Katje,

It’s not only bad, it’s deeply counter productive. Beyond the problems outlined above, there is literally no IDE out there these that won’t give you the preview alongside the code. The amount of usage friction this raises is unmeasurable. I find myself changing the browser window size every time I switch between code and preview. This is like several times a minute!! I’m working on mobile app, and the preview is not independently resizing to the right width for mobile layout. We now can have either agent + preview or agent + code. PLEASE bring back the 3 panel view (well, 4 panels, if we count the files selector too). The agent can’t solve everything for the developer, and it should not get precedence in terms of UI real estate
