Firstly if this post needs to be placed somewhere else, please let me know (apologies in advance).
I am looking for technical clarification regarding the entitlement routing for Gemini Code Assist when used with a Google AI Premium (Pro) subscription.
The Issue: I have an active AI Pro subscription, I do not have an active Google Cloud Project, I do not have Google Cloud Billing setup. When using the Gemini Code Assist plugin in my JetBrains environment (WebStorm/IDEA), the plugin auto populates the Google Cloud Project Name. I cannot delete it. And this is not local to my machine, I have installed the IDE on another machine for the first time, experiencing the same thing. Please see screenshot.
The questions:
- What is the correct way to associate AI Pro account with the coding assistant?
- Do I need a Google Cloud Project to use the full potential of the coding assistant plugin?
- I am new to all of this: Should I just drop AI Pro and switch to a more developer centric subscription? If so what’s a better choice (I don’t use google cloud but I can switch if it makes sense)
