How many expected total participants are in this challenge? Just to get the idea of how competitive the competition ACC is.
There is no official number but I would be expecting 1-2 thousand.
Well the one that hosted by DevPost had over 10,000 participants, and that one wasn’t blasted on their annual conference, so I’d expect at least that many, likely more.
Welcome to the forum!
As @Macha noted - the last one had over 15000 people enter, tho at least some of those were to get early access to Gemini 1.5. Over 900 entries were ultimately submitted.
I’d expect at least the same number entering this time. Both because of the announcement at I/O and because the prizes are an order of magnitude larger.
And while I’d love to know myself, I mostly think about it in terms of what I can learn and what new ideas I can come up with.
I’m actually very curious to see who else is going to go for the game category myself.
I can’t be the only one who has done years of game jams and thinks this is just like one of those, but with actual prize money lol.
There’s either going to be a lot of extremely talented people to compete against, making this more thrilling, or lots of people first getting their feet wet with this, in which case I would love to see what questions people ask on here .
