As outlined in the documentation, there is a weekly baseline quota that runs alongside the normal 5 hour refresh system.
For Google AI Pro users, the 5 hour refresh is primarily designed for regular, ongoing usage. However, once the full weekly premium quota is exhausted, the system transitions into a much longer cooldown period until the next weekly cycle resets. This explains why you might observe the wait time jump from 5 hours to a multiday cooldown.
Problem is, this limit is getting hit too quickly compared to a few months back. No matter what I work on, it seems I get through my weekly limit in a few days now. Historically, I never hit my weekly limit. Not only that, you get no warning. One minute it shows x hours, next minute y days. So frustrsting.
