Google AI Studio: Gemini 2.5 shows overlay issues all around. Also, in the right sidebar, it does not show the latest 06-05 model version (i.e., the most powerful one).
The 6th May model (05-06) is deprecated and no longer available. The 5th June model (06-05 - remember, US date format) is the one that went GA and now has the gemin-2.5-pro tag.
AI Studio works fine here. No overlay issues at all. Try clearing your browser cache, etc etc. Issue is local.
Hi Richard, thanks for reply. You wrote 05-06 is the 5th June model in US format. Did you mistaken? Because I think what you wrote actually means 6th May in US format. The best model on LM Arena is still indicated to be the the 5th June version (Gemini 2.5 Pro preview 06-05)
Yes you are right (you can tell I’m not from the US 
) - I edited my post. If you’re still seeing the broken interface and old models on the list it has to just be a cache issue somewhere (local on PC, internet provider, work place, etc) because I promise they did update it all properly!
WORKAROUND: Google AI Studio’s color theme and overlay issues disappear using Firefox browser. Infact, by using Firefox those problems don’t appear as shown by the screenshot attached here: There is no part of the page overlayed over others; also, using the “Dark” color theme inside AI Studio doesn’t arise the issued showed using Chrome.
Before moving to Firefox, I tried many times to cancel cache and images (from the beginning) in my Chrome browser setting, but this didn’t fix the issues. Then I tried entering in AI Studio by Firefox and it ended to work.
PROBLEMS FIXED!
After determining that the above Google AI Studio issues were caused by the browser (i.e., Chrome), I investigated further. Inside Chrome settings, I found an error checking for browser updates [I think it was the latest version Version 137.0.7151.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)]. I then uninstalled Chrome and immediately reinstalled it (before doing this, make sure you have already synced all important information to your browser). I then launched Google AI Studio again and, as you can see from the screenshot, the above issues disappeared.
