Hi,
We have a Tier 1 API key which for some reason only has free-tier rate limits. This is definitely a bug on your end. The console shows the API is “Tier 1” and our billing is correctly set up, but I am getting 429s at 10/15 requests for minute for flash/flash-lite respectively (i.e. free tier limits). We are definitely using the supposedly Tier 1 key.
It seems others have also had this issue:
I’m currently facing a 429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error when using the Gemini API for flash 2.5 preview , even though our API key is associated with a Tier 1 account.

‘code’: 429,
‘message’: ‘You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details. For more information on this error, head to: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/rate-limits. ’,
‘status’: ‘RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED’,
‘details’: [
{
‘@type’: QuotaFailure’,
‘violations’: [

‘quotaMetric’: generate_c…
This is urgent for us, as we cannot use Gemini for our use-case until it is resolved.
Thanks,
Fraser

The Problem: Despite being on the paid Tier 1 plan, my applicati…
I’m on a paid plan (Tier 3). Despite this my API request are going to a free tier and I’m getting a 429. This just started today.
I’m definitely using the same API key as in AI studio
