We are a startup that utilizes Gemini 2.0 and occasionally 2.5 to detect various skin diseases by analyzing skin redness, blemishes, and other conditions. We aggregate the data we collect and input it into our custom-built local model, which identifies different skin disorders. Until recently, Gemini 2.0 Flash was functioning effectively, and we accessed the API through third-party providers like OpenRouter and Google AI Studio, with a primary reliance on OpenRouter for its diverse model offerings.
However, the recent problems with 2.0 Flash are entirely unacceptable. The excessive flagging of images as āotherā or labeling them as ācontent not permittedā in AI Studio is severely disrupting our operations. It is illogical to block images when we are supplying data rather than requesting content generation. Our goal is simply to gather data from these images, and the current restrictions are obstructing that process.
Previously, we spent between $20,000 and $30,000 monthly on third-party APIs, but now less than 10% of our images are being processed due to these unreasonable flagging issues. This is not merely an inconvenience; it poses a significant problem for our operations. We request that you at least provide us with the ability to disable image filtering. If this issue is not addressed, we will have no choice but to take our business elsewhere.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
