Title: Firebase Authentication Error: Token Service API Disabled in AI Studio-Managed Project — Insufficient Permissions to Enable API
Hello Google AI Studio Team,
I am developing an application in Google AI Studio Build mode that uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore.
My application has been experiencing an authentication token service error. The error message is:
auth/token-service-api-has-not-been-used-in-project-717816739348-before-or-it-is-disabled
The response from the secure token service indicates:
- Error code:
403 SERVICE_DISABLED - Firebase/GCP project ID: `ferrous-coil-rd9..
- Project number: `7178167393..
- Auth domain:
ferrous-coil-rd997.firebaseapp.com - Firestore database ID:
ai-studio-asrardesign-eef0bc9e-eb00-4099-b308-accce9339..
I attempted to enable the required API through Google Cloud Console, but I received a permissions error indicating that I do not have the serviceusage.services.enable permission.
This appears to be a project created or managed through Google AI Studio Build mode. I do not have sufficient permissions to enable the API myself.
Could you please clarify the following?
- How can I enable the required Secure Token API for an AI Studio-managed Firebase project when my account does not have permission to enable services?
- Does Google AI Studio provide a supported way to resolve this issue, or does it require intervention from the project administrator or Google support?
- What is the safest way to restore reliable Firebase Authentication without recreating the project, changing Firestore security rules, or risking existing production data?
This application contains existing client, project, invoice, receipt, and expense records. Preserving all existing data and access restrictions is essential.
I have not intentionally changed Firestore security rules or created test financial transactions while investigating this issue.
I would appreciate clear, project-specific guidance on the correct resolution.
Thank you.
