Dear Google AI Studio Team,
I’m writing to request improved support for right-to-left (RTL) languages, specifically Farsi (Persian), within Google AI Studio. Currently, the rendering of Farsi text is suboptimal, and the default font doesn’t adequately represent the nuances of the script.
This issue impacts usability for developers working with Farsi data or building applications for Farsi-speaking users. The limitations include:
-
Poor Font Rendering: The current font used for Farsi lacks the clarity and aesthetic appeal necessary for proper readability. Character spacing and kerning are often inconsistent, leading to a less professional and user-friendly experience.
-
RTL Layout Issues: While basic RTL support might be present, there may be inconsistencies in layout, particularly when dealing with complex text layouts involving numbers, punctuation, or mixed-script text.
I propose the following improvements:
-
Inclusion of a dedicated Farsi font: Adding a high-quality Farsi font (such as [suggest a specific font if you know one, e.g., B Nazanin, Yekan] ) to the available font options within AI Studio would significantly improve the rendering quality.
-
Enhanced RTL Support: Thorough testing and refinement of RTL layout capabilities to ensure consistent and accurate rendering across all interface elements and user interactions. This includes proper handling of line breaks, paragraph directionality, and text alignment.
-
User Customizable Fonts: Allowing users to upload and utilize their preferred Farsi fonts would provide even greater flexibility and control.
Improving RTL support and Farsi font rendering would enhance the accessibility and usability of Google AI Studio for a significant user base. I believe this is a crucial step towards making AI Studio a truly global and inclusive platform.
Thanks
