Feature Request: Auto-delete Drive attachments when deleting a conversation

Hi Google AI Team,

I would like to submit a feature request regarding how attached files are handled when deleting conversations in Google AI Studio.

Current Behavior:
Currently, when I delete a conversation in Google AI Studio, the files I uploaded for that specific session are left behind. They stay permanently in the auto-generated “Google AI Studio” folder in my Google Drive as orphaned files.

Desired Behavior:
When a conversation is deleted from Google AI Studio, all of its related attachments should be automatically deleted (or moved to the Drive Trash) from the associated Drive folder by default.

Why this matters:

  • Storage Quota: These orphaned files silently eat up Google Drive storage space.

  • Clutter & Management: Over time, the Drive folder becomes a messy dumping ground for files that no longer have any context, forcing users to periodically hunt down and manually delete them.

Proposed Solution:
Make auto-deletion the default behavior, or add a simple checkbox to the deletion prompt in the UI (e.g., “Also delete associated files from Google Drive”).

Thanks for considering!
