End of AI Ultra Access: Is Google Killing Antigravity (for workspace users)?

Salutations,

I hope message this finds you well. As a write this, I am not well. In fact, I am a bit miffed; roiling at the motion of things I can not change.

I got the dreaded “The Ultra AI Access add-on is no longer available for purchase and will be removed from Workspace accounts starting on July 7, 2026.”

It’s pretty clear the writing is on the wall.

I honestly feel that I can finally sympathize with a lot of the whining and complaining I see on these forums. I thought you guys were just soft and unable or unwilling to read the docs; but this motion has cracked me a bit, softening me up to the reality.

I still think you guys are soft, but I realize now I’m a bit soft too. Because these changes to antigravity have impacted my state of being. I have already placed so much trust in Google and this genuinely has harmed that trust. Like, I’m about to onboard like 5 new employees lmao. I’m feeling a bit of betrayal trauma: I’m now going to have to forcibly dissociate from antigravity. I have to pretend like the changes that this is going to have on my velocity “isn’t a big deal”. The amount of time it’s going to take to adjust to these changes isn’t just a matter of switching from antigravity to gemini CLI or migrating to some other solution. You’re forcing me to pay that time and that makes me uncomfortable in a way I have not experienced previously. Like, uncomfortable enough to consider alternatives. I don’t like this feeling. And the more I ponder on it, the more upset I get. Because I don’t want to consider alternatives.

Ripping out Antigravity from workspace users but leaving Google AI Ultra for personal accounts is, to me, cruel. Trying to offer AI Expanded Access as a replacement is disingenuous. And Gemini Enterprise?! Seriously?

Maybe someone can help me understand what the path forward is because the Google Cloud docs have been made intentional obtuse and are basically just a dark pattern at this point.

What’s the “right” subscription (for developers) now that AI Ultra Access is disappearing?

They start the gatekeep…

I get it, same sentiment here. The AI Ultra add-on is my favorite paid upgrade ever. But let’s keep our hopes up for a new corporate plan that makes sense outside of Google Workspace. Whatever they have in store for Google Cloud exactly they won’t tell us before Google I/O.

I have made Antigravity my everyday interface for Gemini interactions because the IDE harness is so much more powerful than the web UI. The mere thought of having to re-organize my workflows and move them to another environment has me on the edge.
