Does sharing require extra permissions or settings to get it to work in AI studio?

It just never works. Yes, I save the prompt/app before trying to share.

Does it have anything to do with the fact that AI Studio keeps asking me to connect to Google Drive?

Seems like an intermittent issue, I just checked, and it’s working now. Let me know if you are still facing the issue.
