I am experiencing a severe systemic bug in Google Flow that is completely halting my creative workflow. The platform is throwing persistent false-positive safety violations stating: “This prompt might violate our policies about generating prominent people. Please try a different prompt or send feedback.”
The Issue: This error is triggering on completely original, fictional character descriptions. I have completely changed my character descriptions, renamed them, stripped down the prompts to bare essentials, and reworded everything—yet the system continues to throw this block on almost every single attempt involving a human character.
It appears the underlying facial-matching threshold or text-context safety filter has been severely overtuned in a recent update, mistaking completely unique artistic character variables for real-world public figures.
As a paying creator trying to use this platform for professional work, this bug makes the service completely unusable. Is anyone else experiencing a sudden spike in these false positives today? Could the engineering team please look into recalibrating the safety threshold weights globally?
I’m not sure if or when this has got worse, but right now I’d agree that Google Flow is practically unusable for any sequence that features realistic characters. Aside from Nanobanana’s natural bias toward generating prominent people that don’t get blocked, trying to generate fictional characters that will be accepted for video across multiple shots, angles and costumes is a constant battle and one that’ll be lost more often than not.
I have no issue with blocking use of prominent people, I do have an issue with the platform giving no way of reliably creating fictional characters that can be used without running into these false-positive safety violations.
I’m frustrated as well as my production has also stopped for over a week now, initially I had this problem when the video will run till 99% and fail. Today, it runs for 12% and through the same error, while this was working fine a week back and I have generated 100+ videos with the same character.
Please fix the bug or carry forward my credits and its unusable right now due to technical fault of the product.
I myself was having no issues until today using my own avatar generated directly through google flows. Now I can’t make a single video after finished 3 back to back using myself and keeps failing due to the same failed error regarding prominent people. And now also concerned for the service i’m paying for not being very useful no my needs and losing my credits as well not fulfilling my work.
I’ve been experiencing this issue for about three weeks now. Had been working for a while and then all of a sudden anything with my avatar fails (who knew I was a prominent person!). Video generation does work with Omni via the Gemini app but fails consistently in Flow which has me shopping around for replacements.
It’s been more than 20 days, and the bug persists. Some days are worse than others, and it doesn’t seem to respond to any adjustments. It is also unpredictable. I sought assistance from Google, without any real help. I had to downgrade my program and use another engine to continue my project. It’s really frustrating, especially because there is no real help from Google’s side.
