We all know that the “Clear chat” button was removed in the latest update, I’m just curious about the reasoning behind this change. Was it intended to encourage longer conversation threads, or possibly for data retention and analysis purposes? or is there another design goal in mind? This probably won’t be answered by Google I know.
But from a user perspective, clearing the chat was the quickest way to reset a conversation without losing all system prompts or setups. Without it, starting over feels much more cumbersome.
