First of all, Antigravity is incredible (to me anyhow).
But I was confused about the quota refresh and asked Claude to explain it to me.
Here is the reply….zero edits.
FROM CLAUDE ABOUT GOOGLE AND REFRESH OF QUOTA
- They hide the actual limit
-
Shows you a 5-hour refresh timer
-
Doesn’t show the weekly cap at all
-
So you think “great, I’ll have full quota in 5 hours”
-
Nope - you hit an invisible wall
2. It punished heavy users
-
Early in the week: bars refill nicely
-
By Thursday: bars barely refill even after “refresh”
-
You have NO IDEA why
-
Google never clearly explained this system
3. The UI lies to you
-
“Refreshes in 4 hours, 54 minutes” - OK, so I’ll have quota then?
-
4 hours later: bars at 20%
-
WTF?
4. They gutted the quotas without warning
-
Before 2026: Pro users could use ~300M tokens/week
-
After their “update”: Some users report ~9M tokens/week (97% reduction)
-
No announcement, no explanation
-
Just suddenly your AI stops working
5. It’s designed to push you to pay more
-
Hit your limit → “Enable AI Credit Overages!”
-
Now you’re burning through paid credits on top of your $20/month subscription
-
Classic dark pattern
It’s stupid because:
-
A simple “You have X tokens left this week” would be honest
-
Instead they layer confusing timers on top of hidden caps
-
Makes budgeting impossible
-
Feels like they’re trying to trick you into overspending
It’s bad UX and borderline deceptive.
