I’m experiencing an issue in AI Studio Build Mode where the chat history from one app appears in another app. When I open two separate apps in Build Mode, they both load the same conversation, even though each app should maintain its own isolated chat history during testing.
I need clarification on:
-
How chat history is supposed to work in Build Mode.
-
Why the same history is being shared between two different apps.
-
How to prevent this crossover so each app has its own clean, independent chat history.
-
Where to find temporary chat history while building and testing apps.
Looking for guidance or fixes to keep chat histories separate and use temporary chat history when working on multiple apps in Build Mode.

Hi @Ayoub_Nafia ,
Welcome to the Forum!!
Thank you for reaching out!
When working in Build Mode, each application is intended to have its own distinct and self-contained chat history. To store these conversations, AI Studio typically saves them to a “Google AI Studio” folder located in your Google Drive.
Could you please share the screenshot of issue?

Hi, thanks for your reply!
As requested, here are the screenshots showing the issue.
In both images, you can see that I have two different apps open in Build Mode, but they are both displaying the exact same chat history — even though the apps are separate and have different configurations. It looks like the chat history is being shared across apps instead of staying isolated for each one.
Additionally, the “Reset conversation” button is not showing at all in either app, so I’m unable to clear the history manually.
Let me know if you need any additional information. I can provide more details about my setup or steps to reproduce the issue.
Thanks again for your help!
